Microneedling Treatment
Collagen induction therapy that harnesses your body's natural healing response to transform skin texture, reduce scarring, and restore a youthful, radiant complexion.
What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin's surface. These tiny channels trigger the body's natural wound-healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin — the building blocks of smooth, firm, youthful skin.
At Thrive, microneedling is performed by Dr. Miles using medical-grade devices that offer precise control over needle depth and speed, ensuring both safety and superior results compared to at-home rollers or non-medical treatments.

How It Works
The microneedling device creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin, each one activating the body's healing cascade. In response, the skin produces fresh collagen and elastin fibers, effectively remodeling the skin from within. This process also enhances the absorption of topical serums applied during treatment, amplifying their benefits.
Dr. Miles adjusts the needle depth based on the treatment area and concern. Shallower depths are used for fine lines and overall texture improvement, while deeper settings target scarring, stretch marks, and deeper wrinkles.

PRP Enhancement
For patients seeking enhanced results, we offer microneedling with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma). A small sample of your blood is drawn and processed to isolate the platelet-rich plasma, which is packed with growth factors. This PRP is then applied to the skin during the microneedling session, where the micro-channels allow it to penetrate deeply.
PRP amplifies the skin's healing and regeneration process, leading to faster results, more significant collagen production, and an even more radiant outcome. It's particularly effective for acne scars, under-eye concerns, and overall skin rejuvenation.
What to Expect
Before treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied for 20-30 minutes to ensure your comfort. The microneedling procedure itself takes approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the treatment area. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild vibrating or scratching feeling.
Immediately after treatment, your skin will appear pink to red, similar to a mild sunburn. This is completely normal and typically subsides within 24-48 hours. You may experience mild swelling, dryness, and flaking over the following 1-3 days as your skin heals and renews.
Dr. Miles provides comprehensive post-treatment instructions, including recommended products and activities to avoid during the healing window.
Results Timeline
Initial improvements in skin glow and texture can be noticed within 1-2 weeks as the skin's healing response begins. More significant results — including reduction in scarring, fine lines, and pore size — develop over 2-4 weeks as new collagen forms.
Collagen remodeling continues for up to 3-6 months after each session, meaning your skin continues to improve long after the treatment. For optimal results, a series of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is recommended, depending on your specific concerns and goals.
